In a comprehensive flight of 117 wines that included wines from top houses, growers, négociants and cooperatives, the Roger Brun NV brut outscored many grander names.

cuvee des sires

We process as red wine making but the maceration is shorter, one or two days instead of 5 days at least for red wine. Colour and flavours are inconstant from one production to another but we are sure to get authentic red fruit flavours.

Doing so, we need good years with very mature grapes (minimum 10,5°) from old vineyards. Thus it is impossible to produce rosé each year, all depends of nature and this can explain risks of shortage.
We are not allowed to print “vintage” on the bottles before it has spent 3 years on lees. It is only then, that a vintage can  be officially declared.

cuvee des sires

Made from best parcels from Aÿ and only good years, we only take the cuvee. This GRAND CRU is design to age. Lemon, vanilla and honey flavours will decrease to make place to heavier butter and toasty aromas with years. Disgorged with a low dosage at least 6 months before being shipped on the market.

It is a high quality Champagne well known in the village and not to drink in actress’s boot.
To drink at cold temperature but not chilled to keep all aromas, for a prestigious reception when under 5 years old or during a meal between 7 and 12, and a cellars temperature, 13°C et only in little comity over.

Origine : Only Ay
Typical Blend: Pinot noir 80% , Chardonnay (20%)
Vinification:  50% of reserve wine from same place, 3 years on lees.
Dosage: Sacrificed bottles of older blend with cane sugar ( 12 g/l )
Vintage to come: none

BEST SPARKLING WINE (Steven Spurrier, Decanter may 2003)

cuvee des sires

This new GRAND CRU is fantastic. Powerful as expected, typical aromas of apricot and apple, round in mouth with the chardonnay really lifting the flavour at the end. This is superior champagne, ideal for drinking with a meal.
